The Farm Manager, reporting to the Farm Overseer and Owners at Ongaha, will oversee all farm operations, with a focus on livestock and cropping. Proficiency in stock trading, stockmanship, and a comprehensive understanding of large-scale beef and lamb finishing are essential. The role emphasizes a strong on-farm culture, requiring a communicative and collaborative approach. Ownership mentality is key, treating the farm and business with utmost care. Integrity, honesty, and community engagement are highly valued at Ongaha, fostering a positive, family-oriented, and inclusive environment that encourages open communication.   • Adept at accurate record-keeping, with a keen interest in utilizing tools like FarmIQ and FARMAX.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team.

  • Willingness to travel between blocks as operational needs require.
  • Management of 2-4 working dogs under good control.
  • General skills encompassing tractor operation, irrigation, temporary electric fencing, etc.
  • Possession of a current full driver’s license.

  • Sense of humor, trustworthiness, and reliability highly valued.
