Tasman Holiday Parks is quickly becoming a prominent figure in the Caravan and Camping Industry, expanding rapidly with a presence in over 42 parks across Australia and New Zealand in just over three years! With ambitious plans for the next two years, we are seeking a dynamic professional to join us as a Regional Operations Manager, overseeing our portfolio of parks in North Queensland.

In this crucial role within the Tasman Holiday Parks Operational Management Team, the Regional Operations Manager will report directly to our General Manager of Operations. This position entails comprehensive operational management and full responsibility for the profit and loss of assets under management within the designated portfolio.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the delivery of the portfolio Operational Business Plan aligns with the overall fund strategy
  • Lead cross-divisional alignment (Sales, Marketing, Development, Operations) to achieve and exceed commercial outcomes, particularly RevPAR
  • Proactively identify and assess new business opportunities for the portfolio, making relevant commercial recommendations
  • Full P&L accountability for assets under management, with preemptive strategies for under-performance
  • Efficiently manage the cost base while prioritizing the highest-level resident/guest experience
  • Enhance the capital value of assets under management
  • Oversee and deliver operational capital reinvestment for the portfolio
  • Contribute to overall corporate/group initiatives (e.g., developments, acquisitions, divestments)
  • Adhere to minimum presentation standards in all parks
  • Undertake park visits according to the portfolio travel schedule
  • Develop and implement a resourcing plan for the portfolio
  • Monitor and review the performance of each park, devising strategies to overcome underperformance
  • Proactively drive and improve Parks Net Promoter Score (NPS), implementing strategies to address negative customer feedback
  • Actively contribute as a member of the operations team, assisting other employees as required
  • Report to the GM Operations (AUS) in an executive setting, providing accurate and well-written reporting on the portfolio.

  • Tertiary qualification or industry-recognized certification in business management or a related field
  • Strong leadership skills with expertise in operational, financial, and people management
  • Flexibility to adapt and respond to changes in a rapidly paced environment
  • Ability to work under pressure within tight timeframes as part of a core management team
  • Strong commercial focus
  • Demonstrated experience in leading change management initiatives
  • Sense of urgency and a proactive approach to accomplishing tasks

  • Extensive experience in the hotel or accommodation sectors
  • Proven track record of leading large teams in a multi-site portfolio
  • Advocate for and practitioner of safe work practices

As part of this role, there is a significant requirement for frequent travel within the North Queensland portfolio of six Holiday Parks and the broader business as needed. Ideally, the role is suited for individuals residing in Townsville, given its central location within the portfolio. However, candidates based in Brisbane who can actively travel from Yeppoon up to Cairns will also be considered. When not engaged in travel within the portfolio, the role will involve remote work, and for those based in Brisbane, work may also be conducted from the Brisbane Support Office.
